As binoculars go, they don't get clearer or brighter than the Bushnell Legend Ultra-HD 8x36 model. Independent tests reveal that the Legend Ultra-HD dominates the competition in light transmission all across the visible light spectrum. How? The secret is in the Ultra-Wide Custom Band anti-reflective lens coating, which averages 7.25 percent more light transmission compared to other binoculars in its class. This guarantees maximum brightness at peak shooting hours, when warmer colors traditionally prevail. The binocular's lenses, meanwhile, are made of ED Prime glass, which produces a color-tuned, high-resolution viewing experience. And to protect your view during inclement weather, Bushnell added its patented RainGuard HD lens coating, which reduces large drops of water to near-microscopic specks. This dramatically increases light transfer and results in a remarkably clear image in wet weather. Whether you're dealing with rain, snow, sleet, or condensation, you'll enjoy a clear, bright view when other optics would be rendered useless.

Other details include a chemical PC-3 phase coating applied to the prisms to enhance resolution and contrast; an ultra-wide field of view; a lightweight magnesium chassis that's 100-percent waterproof and fogproof; soft-touch grips for easy transport; and a locking diopter. As a bonus, the Legend Ultra-HD comes with a deluxe binocular harness and premium case with a microfiber cleaning cloth.

The Legend Ultra-HD's field of view is 12 percent wider than the competition.

5Best buy for the money Period!
By Fjuicer
I am an avid naturalist that enjoys great optics. My primary pair is Pentax DCF SP 10x43. I wanted a smaller size to lighten my load while hiking in the Santa Cruz mountains. I am an avid birder and absolutely require a bright and clear image. These legend binoculars have Ed glass and a huge field of view. I actually enjoy the image color contrast better than my by far higher dollar Pentax. They are compact, well built. The Pentax wins for heavy duty construction though for rough handling in the field.

But these sell for considerably less money and even have a $50.00 rebate for Xmas ordering along with a free camo fleece jacket valued at $100 bucks. Included also is a nice shoulder harness free.

I believe any birder/outdoorsman will find these a terrific value. The only other binocular I would get in this class for more money is the vortex viper 8x32. Bushnell also offers a money back guarantee for 1 year to use and try. You would have to spend hundreds more dollars to get the view this optic provides.

Cons: One is the large case to carry binocular in instead of a compact case and the field of view is compromised by the limited twist up 2 clicks. It should have 1 more click to comfortably view fov without glasses.twist up eyecups. They are a little loose, but acceptable. It would be nice for a better system for the objective covers, but it does the job.

5Stunningly good binoculars
By Ted Dunning
We have just purchased these binoculars and already had a slightly older pair of Swarovski EL 8x42.

These Bushnells actually run with the big boys. Astronomical viewing is even better than the Swarovski. Daytime viewing is comparable with the very slight sharpness edge goes to the Swarovski's. Given the lighter weight of the Busnell and the 5-10x higher price of the Swarovski, this binocular has to be one of the best optical buys of all time.

The ONLY gripe that we have is that the objective caps have a ring that is slightly too loose which can let the caps fall off when you are using the binoculars. I think I can prevent that with a tiny keeper, but I would rather have not needed to.

5JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED
By R Pierce
After hours of research I had narrowed my decision down to two sets of binoculars and I am so proud that I went with the "BUSHNELL ULTRA-HD LEGEND 8x36 CAMO BINOCULARS". My wife has some medical problems and can no longer hold heavy objects for any length of time. We were going to the Smokies for a great elk and foliage viewing. I needed to find a good, lightweight binocular so she could use them. This was my best decision. These "BUSHNELL LEGEND" binoculars were all we had hoped for and more. Much lighter than my others and the optics surpassed my "HOPEFULL WISHES". My wife was "shocked" at how great these binoculars performed and so was I. We left the others in the car and took only my camera and the "LEGENDS" after the first day. Anyone on the fence in deciding on which binoculars to buy, you can't go wrong with these. Field of view is great, focus and eye relief are easy and comfortable, Color is wonderfull. I have no problem recommending these "BUSHNELL LEGEND 8x36" to anyone.
